Charlie Sorrenson grew up in Indiana and Aotearoa New Zealand and received his MFA from UC Irvine, where his stories won Honorable Mention for the Henfield Prize. 

His work is published or forthcoming in The Iowa Review, Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading, Michigan Quarterly Review, and Passages North, among other publications. His chapbook of stories, Walk on Your Knees, was a finalist for the 2025 Black River Chapbook Competition. 

A 2025 Vermont Studio Center Fellow, 2024 Mountain Words Writer in Residence, and 2023 Lambda Literary Scholar, Charlie is also a proud alum of workshops at Tin House, Community of Writers, and Clarion.

He is currently at work on two novels.
