Charlie Sorrenson grew up in Indiana and New Zealand and received his MFA from UC Irvine, where his stories won Honorable Mention for the Henfield Prize. 

His work is published or forthcoming in Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading, Michigan Quarterly Review, Apogee, Tor.com, Lightspeed Magazine, and Nightmare Magazine. He is a 2025 Vermont Studio Center Fellow, a 2024 Mountain Words Writer in Residence, and a 2023 Lambda Literary Scholar. He is also a proud alum of workshops at Tin House, Community of Writers, and Clarion.

Charlie has written a story collection, Walk on Your Knees, and is at work on a novel, Just Be Normal, which was an Honorable Mention for the Miami Book Fair’s Emerging Writer Fellowship.
