Charlie Sorrenson grew up in Indiana and New Zealand and received his MFA from UC Irvine, where his stories won Honorable Mention for the Henfield Prize. 

His work is published or forthcoming in The Iowa Review, Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading, Michigan Quarterly Review, and Apogee, among others. He is a 2025 Vermont Studio Center Fellow, a 2024 Mountain Words Writer in Residence, and a 2023 Lambda Literary Scholar. He is also a proud alum of workshops at Tin House, Community of Writers, and Clarion.

Charlie has written a story collection and is at work on a novel, which was an Honorable Mention for the 2024 Miami Book Fair’s Emerging Writer Fellowship.
